The Flemish Beekeeping Institute is open to all beekeeping associations and their members. They also welcome all organizations and individuals with an interest in nature, the world of bees and pollinating insects in general. Anyone committed to nature and interested in bees and their habitat is welcome to join the VBI. Since early 2025, the VBI has been working with KLUBS for its federation and all underlying beekeeping associations.
René De Backer of the Flemish Bee Institute talks about his findings from KLUBS:
"The Flemish Beekeeping Institute is an umbrella organization whose members include beekeeping associations, beekeepers, bee lovers, as well as cities and towns. Managing, correctly informing and serving such a diverse group of members is a feat. Fortunately, we are helped by KLUBS.
Our VZW / company not only has to comply with the VZW legislation but there are also very specific laws that apply; take for example the obligations on food safety (FASFC).
KLUBS gives us the ability to aggregate the necessary data.
But it goes further. KLUBS offers our associations their own Intranet for their operation on top of the media library we offer to all members.
And with KLUBS, we know that this is done in compliance with strict GDPR guidelines and according to modern IT security standards."
